Global Fashion Agenda regularly hosts policy-focused events throughout the year, together with our Policy Hub partners.
The fashion industry is one of the sectors with the greatest potential to prevent climate change. By sharing the Fashion on Climate report’s findings with policymakers we aimed to provide them with a deeper understanding of fashion’s carbon emissions and the additional abatement efforts the industry could pursue in light of the critical negotiations to be held during COP26.
The discussions during the Masterclass pointed towards the need to identify clear focus areas to enable fruitful policy discussions. Global Fashion Agenda representatives were joined by key speakers such as Corinne Sawers (McKinsey & Company), Lindita Xhaferi-Salihu (UNFCCC) and Mike Schragger (Swedish Textile Initiative for Climate Action) as well as by UNFCCC Fashion Charter representatives including Helen Crowley (Kering), Karin Reimerink (PVH Corp.) and Masarrat Quader Syeda (H&M Group).
